Not what I expected. Rooms were cluster phobic, elevator smelled like marijuana. Pool was freezing and dark . Felt bad for my girls, they braved it but after awhile, they swam in the hot tub. Didn't have breakfast cos it didn't look good. Never again.

Drove last minute to Sheboygan (6hrs) for a medical procedure and booked a night at windgate. In my rush, I booked the following week on accident. Realizing my mistake, i made a second booking for the correct night. When I spoke to the front desk they said they would refund wrong booking. They didn’t refund the wrong booking despite me calling them several times and working with the booking agency. Frustrating that management says one thing and does another.

The place was beautiful, and the staff were really nice too. Breakfast was really good, and the room was even better. I loved the hotel. The bathroom was clean.

Sad to be writing this review as previous stays have been great but on this stay the property smelled so strongly of cigarettes it made me feel ill. We moved rooms once thinking it was specific to the room we were first given, but by morning I needed to leave the property just to find a restroom as it smelled like someone was actively smoking in ours. If you’re a smoker, they clearly don’t enforce no smoking policies so this may be a good place for you to book. However, avoid if you are sensitive to the smell of smoke.
