Windmill Island Gardens is home to de Zwaan windmill, the last mill allowed to be transported from the Netherlands. de Zwaan still functions by grinding locally-grown grain into flour that is sold to visitors and local businesses. A highlight of visiting is a tour of this historic working windmill. Very nice and relaxing time ... we really enjoyed walking around looking at the tulips and riding the carousel with the grand kids and friends
My wife & I went on a roadtrip and stopped by to look around and we had a good time. The windmill tour is very interesting, and the snack & souvenir shop has a ton of interesting stuff! Worth a visit!

It's enjoyable if you allow yourself to enjoy the cultural aspect of what the islands represents. My friends and I had a great time and lots of laugh.... Life is what you make of it peeps!
All the bitter tips must not have gone during tulip time! I'd pay $7.50 over and over to visit the windmill and all those beautiful tulips!!!
