About Us: Wilson County Fair, Inc., founded in 1933, is a private, not-for-profit organization committed to serving the citizens of Wilson County and the surrounding areas. The American Legion Post 13 elects a twelve person Board of Directors to run the activities of the organization and to maintain and improve the fairground and its facilities while serving the citizens of Wilson County. I love the Wilson county fair always have its the closest fair to me that is the biggest and funniest fair I have been to
My family and I moved to wilson just a couple of years ago... We found out about a carnival at the fair grounds and decided to bring the kids out for a night of fun.We expected to be completely broke by the end of the night as most carnivals that we had gone to in the past charged per ride but this particular carnival allowed you to purchase a bracelet that would allow you to ride any ride all night. I love it
We enjoyed the fair but were dismayed by the treatment the female lion (and the other animals) received from her handler and by her behavior that bordered on cowering in the corner in the Close Encounters of the Exotic Kind act. We came home later and did some research and found they had many USDA violations in the past to include not feeding the animals the correct diet and not providing them with a good environment. The Levittown NY Fair had people witness much of the same cruel treatment of these animals just four months ... read more
