Too Much Hype – I went there for my birthday several months ago and there were only 3 of us. The server was horrible and ignored us for most of the evening as he socialized with a table right across from us! The food took forever to arrive and the prices were ridiculous. I do not remember anything spectacular about our meals nor cocktails. We went on a week night and I was expecting a more young and hip crowd. It was a big disappointment.
Fabulous Food!!! – Honestly, I am at a loss to understand how anyone could possibly complain about the food here. It is absolutely extraordinary. The service was attentive without being overbearing. We had a wonderful evening and cannot wait to return.
Try the short ribs!!! – I went there with a few friends...had a great time! Everyone agreed the food was delicious, drinks were good. Highly recommend the short ribs! The crowd was "older"...maybe 30+ on the patio and bar. All in all it was a great experience!
Excellent food, great service, hot nightspot, awesome patio – Our experience here was great! Nothing to complain about. My husband and I went there with another couple and had a nice time sitting on the patio having dinner. People rave about the patio because of the ambience due to decor, candles, and the fact that you are not squished next to other people's tables. Best Garden Patio in L.A. – Only been three times for lunch so I cant say I have a full review of all the dishes, but the lobster salad , fresh fish and burger were excellent. For 14 bucks the burger better be special and it is, so indulge if you need a top end burger fix. The best feature of this place is the amazing patio out back. Incredible! – My girlfriend and I went on a Thursday night for her birthday and had the best time. We had a very charming, and knowlegable server (Jay), who guided us through the menu and offered suggestions for wine as well. We had duck confit salad, and scallops to start, and for our main course had salmon and halibut with a side dish (per Jays advice) of brussel sprouts. For Adults Only – I agree with the young ladies in that Wilshire Restaurant is (thankfully) a mature restaurant that does not cater to the Cobo Wabo - Girls Gone Wild crowd. It is refreshing to be able to either dine or just go in and have a drink without all the drama that goes on in places frequented by the 21 - 25 looking for some action crowd. It does not matter if your there for a Great Kobe Ribeye or just stopping by for a plate of slidders or oysters. The food is always good and the service very friendly.
Not a good experience!!! – I have been there couple of times. The bar area is nice and bar menu is reasonable in price and decent quality, however the restaurant part is probably one of the worst for the price you pay. The food quality is not that great and food was not tasty at all. The service was extremely poor. So the food is way overpriced for what you get. Wilshire-sucks – I was disappointed in Wilshire. My friend and I arrived Sat. night at 10:20 pmand had to wait in line. The line attendant was very rude and filled with false self importance. After about 10 minutes we got in. The crowd was older (30-40) and not that attractive. We wanted to check out the back bar but a bouncer was guarding the entrance like it was Fort Knox.
