Located on Wilshire Boulevard, this restaurant is a great place to relish organic fare. House-made Brioche, Smoked Roe, Peking Duck, Braised Short-ribs, and Kobe Rib-eye Steak do the rounds. The wine list is decent and the bar menu doesn't fail to satisfy. Wilshire can accommodate up to 200 people for a private gathering. Reservations required.

Much ado about nothing – We went for drinks and food last night at Wilshire last night. We did this despite the restaurants poor reputation. We had to pass a security checkpoint to get in...sheesh how unwelcoming. Once we got inside we tried to get to the back patio (we were told it is the only good part of the restaurant). What did find another security checkpoint. So we were forced marched back to the main bar which was full of noisy and drunk patrons. We ordered a burger the two glasses of red, i think one was syrah. Both... read more
Interesting story by the last poster. Raving about lemonade and Ice Cream Sundaes. Is the Wilshire going after the Baskin-Robins - 31 Flavors crowd. We also heard from our server that the original chef is still there. So why all the hype about change? What is next, spago type pizza....that is an original idea!! Or how about a Mac & Chesse night? Wilshire needs to define itself....
amazing experience!!!!!! – I visited The Wilshire for the first time with my boyfriend this past saturday night, we didn't have a reservation and we were seated promptly, we were sat in the patio next to a fireplace, I must say the ambiance was fantastic, romantic our server was friendly and helpful, we started with the braseaola salad very light and tasty, I order the salmon, it was amazing!!!!! light and fresh, great combination of ingridients, my boyfriend order the chicken with the fava bean risotto, it was delicious!!!!... read more
Best patio on the westside. – Had dinner at The Wilshire on a very busy Thursday night. The front desk host was very nice no attitude like many other restaurants around town. We put in a request for the patio and was seated on the lower patio down by the outside bar. Very beautiful ambiance, great server(Rey) great menu spiel and very funny. He definately knew what he was talking about, he gave us great suggestions because we liked everthing we ordered. Lobster, scallops, oysters, shortribs, salmon, chocolate cake and cookie... read more
Change is good !!! – My husband and I deciced to give Wilshire another try this past Tuesday night. I had long tired of there bland and flavorless food. It was uninspired and left me wanting more. A friend of mine is a regular and had told me that the had hired a new chef de cuisine and they had an ice cream sundae night on Tuesdays and being the ice cream lover that I am I had to check it out. The service was warm and welcoming and we were seated promptly on the patio. I started off with a delicious glass of riesling and my... read more
You've got to be kidding!!! – We ate at Wilshire for the first time and what a mistake that was. We had heard from many people that the restaurant was very inconsistent. For starters they lost our reservation and we were delayed being seated even though the restaurant was empty. We were seated and given menus right away. We looked over the wine list, not very interesting and settled on a couple of glasses of wine at $15 dollars a pop. We ordered dinner; two mixed greens, a salty piece of shortrib and salmon that in my opinio... read more
Wilshire was nice for drinks and bar food this weekend. The crowd was a divirse mix of Angeleno's. The back bar is a very nice place for cocktails.
What a pleasant find.... – We are locals and have been hearing about Wilshire for the past year and finally made it in last evening. We had a very pleasant experience on the outdoor terrace patio. We were a party of five and arrived 30 minutes late and still were seated promptly. I highly recommend the morels and favas as a side dish- very interesting menu. I suggest starting with the ahi- very fresh and clean preparation. The salmon and sea bass with pea tendrils were perfection. We look forward to warm summer evenings and ... read more
Who is taking bets on when Wilshire closes? – This place is dead in the water. Nothing exciting about it..blah, blah food; indifferent service; low rent bar crowd overruns the place. Somebody should just flush it...
