Visited WWC the other day and had the privilege to watch birds that were rescued from as far away as downtown Chicago that had recovered to be set free and released back into nature. So cool. :-)
About 4 weeks ago I found wounded baby Yellow-shafted Flicker. Immediately, I drove to Willowbrook Wildlife Center. They took the beautiful bird under their care, and I was assured I would hear back on the progress. Today I received an email that they were able to save the bird, and was raised to its maturity and released to DuPage County forest preserve. Thank you!

I found an injured baby bunny in our backyard. A family member recommended that I take it to the Willowbrook Wildlife Center. They took the animal immediately and took my information. Within a day, they emailed me the details and the status on the bunny. Unfortunately, they had to euthanize but now I know where to go. This is a wonderful place packed with outstanding people. I'm passing this info in so others can learn that places like this really do exist. Thank you for all you do !!!! And thanks for the comforting words...... read more
