You've never been? If you're an animal lover - Go! They have so many rescue birds and animals to see inside and outside - bald eagles, great horned, barred and barn owls, hawks, falcons, bobcat, foxes, woodchuck, and small birds from indigo buntings to cowbirds, etc. So fun! They almost always take a raptor out of the cage and try and educate the visitors about these fascinating creatures. You can even go on a release day. Please leave donations!
We found a baby Opossum in our garage on Sunday. My Wife's Sister, who is a vet, recommended we take him to a Wildlife Center. We found Willowbrook Wildlife Center near our home and dropped him/her the next day. They accepted him and walk us through what would happen to him/her now. We're very grateful places and people like this exist. If you've never been there I suggest you take a visit and find out more. This is truly one of the great places and services for anyone who loves Illinois' wildlife!
This place is phenomenal. They provide a much needed service to injured wildlife and do so with compassion. Yesterday I brought an injured duck and they were happy to provide me with information on what they found during the exam and how they are treating him when I called to follow up on it. I also love to visit and see the animals that have made permanent homes at the shelter due to various conditions not allowing them to be released back into the wild.
