It is very unfortunate to have Willow close its doors this year. I had my first pregnancy the traditional clinical hospital route and it was very impersonal. With Willow, I found exactly what I wanted, a caring team who acknowledged my wants and who created meaningful relationships with me. Specifically, I enjoyed not having vaginal exams like I so often did towards the end of my pregnancy at the clinic (wanted to reduce all unnecessary infection risks). I did not connect with every midwife at Willow but I really appreciated how Midwife Susanna was accommodating on which midwife I would see for my appointments. Hanna is the sweetest and was very prompt in answering any questions I had via phone calls/emails. I had a great birthing experience with Midwife Jamie and Iliana as the birth assistant. Jamie is so awesome and I was so lucky she was on call when I went into labor. Midwife Krista is also so knowledgeable and I highly recommend her for a lactation consultation. Overall... read more

My wife and I tried to deliver our second child with Willow. On the day of delivery they sent us home 6cm dilated with contractions 5 minutes apart because there was a shift change coming up and they didn't think we were progressing quick enough to warrant another midwife coming in. Once home we called to try and come back in at 2:30 minutes apart, and were denied because contractions weren't lasting a full minute or long enough for them. 90 minutes after we were originally sent home we had our baby in the back of our truck ... read more
