I grew up in the area and went to school in Willi. And while I relocated to Oregon where there is a overwhelming amount of good brewpubs to see, Willibrew has stayed near and dear to me. Their beer holds up as some of the best I've had from New England. The historic building it resides in gives it a great environment, while a full spectrum of locals show up and interact with each other. This brewery really bolsters my pride of Willimantic and is a place always on my list when visiting home.
Brews are exceptional and the food is pretty darn good too!
The nachos are my favorite. They are so large that they pretty much last the next day as well. Nachos for breakfast, second breakfast, lunch, tea, supper... They just never seem to end. Delicious with blackened chicken on top and paired with Hosmer Mountain Root Beer.
