I tore my ACL (but I didn't know it at the time) and went to the emergency room, knee swollen, and I could not put my weight on it. It was super painful. I was told to come back and visit Dr. Schrader who gave me an x-ray and told me nothing is broken and everything is fine. I was prescribed physical therapy (which the physicians told me that, because I was flexible I hyper extended my leg and that's why it is swollen and difficult to walk on).
