Extraordinary. 14 years ago he resected my lung to remove cancer that had metastasized from my colon. He won't like hearing this but I'll now tell him that one week after the surgery I hit my first hole-in-one. He used the DaVinci minimally invasive technique. Obviously, I recovered well from the surgery. I felt very at ease knowing he was doing the surgery. Excellent doctor.

He did my Bypass surgery in January 1998 at Piedmont Hospital, I am still doing great that was 23 years ago my Chlostrol is 137. I do not think there is a better Thorasic Surgen anywhere.

Dr. Mayfield absolutely saved my Husband's life. There is not a more brilliant, talented, entirely dedicated, caring Surgeon, IMOHO&E. Thankfully, we chose him over Emory (planned 11 hours of surgery) & Piedmont (planned 12 hours), thus were entirely fortunate. Dr. Mayfield & Dr. Miller both performed the Esophagectomy - it took only 2.5 hours - which helped my Husband to have survived it. He's now approaching his 4 year mark & doing great!

Best surgeon you can ask for! Not only did he perform surgery on me. He took care of my husband over eight years ago after another surgeon discharged him when he was septic and landed up in Dr Mayfields ER room and remembered him after eight years after my husband passed. He figured out what was wrong but had to send him back to the other hospital in Atlanta. Choose Mayfield over the others trust me.

I had first office visit with Dr. Mayfield August 2016. One week later Dr. Mayfield removed my right upper lung which was cancer, was taken care very good at Wellstar Hospital for 8 days. Saw Dr. Mayfield while in hospital. I had office visit with him 2 weeks after discharged from hospital and he introduced me to my Oncologist... I am 7 months out, 2 CT's ok and doing very good..I will see Dr. Mayfield if I ever have the need to see surgical doctor again, finger crossed I will not have to.
