I felt immediately welcomed at Alameda Aesthetic Dentistry and really enjoyed working with everyone on the team. The staff was super friendly and my cleaning went great. However, my dentist made the usual condescending remarks, repeatedly telling me my smile would be ‘more beautiful’ if I got braces—he must have said ‘more beautiful’ five times. It felt unnecessarily focused on aesthetics, which I believe reflects a gender bias. I understand my teeth are a bit crowded, but I have no cavities—so why not just leave it at that?
