His professionalism has led to separating a family while creating many horrible self harming attributes with in the children being served by him. His best interest is not your child but his pocket. My children were under 17 years old both drink heavily at their father's home with the adults, both struggle with anxiety and depression...not to mention cutting amongst other things...With the damage he has caused, his license should be revoked...
I strongly recommend that you do everything possible to not use Dr. Buchanan for your needs. His thinking is very outdated. He has spoken to me over email in a very degrading unprofessional manner on multiple occasions. He is not prompt with answering phone calls or emails or following through with what he claims that he will do. I have had very serious issues with my daughter, which he glossed over and failed to address at the detriment of my daughter. Be very careful, he pretends to be in the best interest of the children, he is not. Even the children have problems with him. Asks questions and writes notes. He is not very assertive and seems unable to address the issues. He is not afraid to charge especially when it is court ordered. Is involved in parental alienation, knows the children are being alienated by custodial parent, and allows it to continue by not writing a report to the judge. Do not recommend him. I see my psychologist at this location so I wanted to specifically call her out - This review is for Dr. Sharon Ellis Joyner - For every major life event I have experienced in my life, I've sought treatment (divorce, death, major health issues, etc). I've been treated by several Psychologist "across the South". To me, Dr. Sharon Ellis-Joyner deserves a Gold Star rating from the American Psychological Asoc. She CARES about her patient.
