Dr. Hozack did my hip replacement last summer. A month later a fracture was discovered near the hip, a fracture which he did not see on the X-ray, but was picked up by his nurse practitioner (apparently, she is no longer with him). The whole experience was a hip-replacement factory. Upon dismissal, you get an "app"--with no regard for individual medical backgrounds which may vary from the norm. Then to try to get through with a question was impossible. When they finally did not return my call enough times, I had had it. No m... read more

A very bad experience. Nerve stretched during surgery he told me 8 MONTHS LATER, still not back over 1 YEAR later. Still wondering who stretched it--him or his Fellow?? Leg weak and difficulty walking, & I used to be a runner. Had another total joint surgery years prior and NO PROBLEMS there! Knowledgeable but his ego gets in his way, doesn't take the patient into consideration at all. Having been through other surgeries in other states, would never return here.

Dr.Terrible follow up care! Great nurse Laura Woodward. He did not believe in therapy and when I had complications 9 months after surgery and finally met with him-never saw him after the surgery-he was horrible. Gave no direction to proceed to avoid future difficulties. Argumentative and unsupportive. I had heard he had awful bedside manner but when this shifted to my care and sever pain after the surgery-and he stated nothing can be done-just what it is! Doesnt give a patient any direction-and just awful to talk to.

I had knee replacement surgery in both knees, 5 1/2 months apart at Thomas Jefferson Hospital. The entire experience was positive, & I highly recommend Dr. Hozack. I spent two days in the hospital & walked at home, including stairs, immediately without any aids.I live alone & had no help. Dr. Hozack did not visit me in my hospital room, but I did see him before & after both surgeries. I don't agree with other concerns on this site about lack of visits from the doctor at the hospital. A year after my 2nd knee surgery I had em... read more
i just read the reviews posted. Both winers. to respond to the first idiot, .. Did he figure out he lived alone and the bathroom was on the second floor after the surgery. Hes right about Dr Hozack seeing you afterward butthere is an orthopedic surgeon there every day. I too was alone but arranged to remain in the hospital for rehab prior to my surgery. I have had not a single problem with my repacement knee, Hozack is a gifted surgeon.
I had double knee replacement surgery in January with this doctor. I was told Dr. Hozack was an excellent surgeon (by a nurse), and he very well may be, but his people skills leave A LOT to be desired. He never visited me after surgery (saw him briefly 2 days later), but more importantly, he does NOT believe in the patient going to in-patient rehab after surgery. I live alone in a 2 story house with no bathroom on the first floor and he wanted me to go home 3 days after surgery. I might add that the physical therapists in th... read more

Bill Hozack is a terrible individual. He knew he had put a defective hip replacement in me and never told me. It was eventually taken out when I saw on the internet that it had been recalled. He does not care about his patients and runs a factory. Take a number and once you pay the bill, you will never hear from him again. Horrible.
