Dr Athans is very professional and to the point, does not sugar coat and does not milk you for procedures you do not need. I have had two surgeries on my knee so between the scar tissue, and the osteoarthritis exercise and cortisone or Gel are about the extent to help. DR ATHANS is no nonsense and to the point and listens to your concerns. Age comes into play ans sonevfolks

I went there with a torn meniscus. He took an ex-ray and sent me for an MRI. He said I would need gel shots and he would have to get authorization to do it and would call me. Never heard from him again. Called there over and over and no one would answer my questions , or call me back after I left many messages This is 3 months later. Still have heard nothing. Went somewhere else and was started with the shots that same day.

Hi I was a patient of Dr Athens 5 years ago. I eventually had a hip replacement and Dr Athens did the surgery. I noticed quite a few bad reviews he’s been getting so I felt the need to come on and say something. NO, he does not have the BEST bedside manner, but wouldn’t you rather have a brilliant surgeon, then a surgeon who gives you fake smiles and lollipops! I saw Dr. Athans for a second opinion regarding my ongoing knee pain. Unfortunately, he only spent a few minutes with me, quickly stating that he didn’t see a need for a scope and that I would essentially just have to live with the problem. I left feeling dismissed and discouraged. However, I trusted my instincts and pursued another opinion. Dr Athans was very professional and thorough. Worked with me to come up with a treatment plan. A no non-sense type doctor, there to provide the best possible care for me the patient. Wasn’t there to make friends, as they say in the Godfather “nothing personal, just business “. I would highly recommend Dr Athans.
