Star Weld was founded by Willard C. Starcher in 1938 and operated from a garage behind his home in Spencer, West Virginia. The business was managed by his wife, Dorthy Starcher, while he was employed as a civilian technician by the US Navy during World War II. I moved back home to Spencer after being gone for almost 32 years and I was so happy to see that Starchers was still in business and going strong. I was new to using propane as a heating/ cooking source in the rental house but the young men that were there, answered all my questions and set my mind to ease.
