Simply an incredible organization! Both of my sons have now gone on their programs and cannot recommend higher. Older son did the Thorofare trail in Yellowstone - a very challenging backpack/kayak trek in the most remote regions of the lower 48. He thrived and grew so much. My younger son just returned from 3 weeks backpacking in Northern CA and already wants to do another program next year (this from a kid who did not want to backpack or sleep in a tent). We sent our daughter to their summer camp in summer 2025 and we did not have a nice experience. The camp has no facilities. The “upper camp” and “lower camp” are two stadiums without trees. On one of those camps there is some kind of tent to provide some respite from the sun. All kids seemed to do was play games in the sun, all day. There was a small building that looks like a mobile home and would not comfortably fit all the kids. The staff I saw all seemed to be counselors-in-training, which are middle and high school kids... read more
