RecommendedAmazing conservation group!
Joined the Navigating the Sipsey class on Nov. 24th. We learned a lot about how to read a topo map and what all those lines really mean. We also went on a nice hike from Sipsey trail head. Kim was an awesome instructor and I will be trying to join them again on another adventure.
I attended the November Topographic Map Navigation class and had a great time. I learned a lot too - I knew what a topographic map was but not how to interpret one. Going into the Sipsey and putting what we had learned in action really helped pull it together. Kim is a very engaging teacher and was willing to answer all our questions. I’d love to attend other classes - an in depth map/compass class and an extended “I’m lost what do I do” class! I think you would fill these classes over and over. Thanks again!!
I helped with trail days and learned so much about what it takes to maintain these trails I've been hiking on.
