We had the Hawaiian plate (kalua pork) and the Bijou Blue Salad for lunch on a quiet Thursday afternoon. Melissa was attentive, warm and accommodating as we had to come inside to eat once the wasps saw our lunches! Would recommend wasp abatement for the outdoor tables, otherwise everything was great!
This restaurant used to have high quality food at a moderate price. That has changed for the worse. All “sides” for burgers and sandwiches are now separately priced. Soft drinks and iced tea are now $5. I now have had 2 bad experiences and will not be returning. The latest happened last Sunday. I decided to try their Hawaiian plate lunch. Hawaiian plate snack is more like it. The Kahlua pork tasted decent except it was very fatty. The chicken Katsu was dried out and 2 of the small pieces were breading only. Very nice. Love the atmosphere.
The atmosphere was great, food was delicious, and the server was quick and attentive. Best beer cheese soup I’ve had… ever. The Bijou chicken salad was fantastic. The chicken was well seasoned and moist. Drinks were generously pored. We’ll definitely be back when we’re in the area.
