I am 70 yrs old. Needed a routine, recommended colonoscopy. I do not have cancer or issues. Received a consult to Dr Wiener’s office from my primary care provider for the procedure. Snafu’s with this office receiving the consult. Talked to the admin staff, Chris, and I decided get the actual consult from primary care and drive to this office. Only to be told I needed another consult with a provider at this office for the procedure. In other words, he requires a consult to get a consult to get a routine procedure. No way!! I ... read more
Dr Wiener is a cool, smart doctor. I quite like him. His staff is friendly, and I never had to wait more than 10 or 15 minutes. When I went for an endoscopy, and my blood pressure was low, they patiently rehydrated me before proceeding. When my Uber driver left before I could get out to his car, the endoscopy center got me another ride. They also responded quickly when Social Security requested my records from them. My only criticism would be that they don't post results to their patient portal, or post them with unclear or ... read more
A pleasant experience in a unpleasant situation . Wonderful staff and a knowledgable doctor and took as much time as needed to make me comfortable. If you are searching ? Stop because I believe you will be happy here . Don't waste your time searching. This office squeezed me in and the staff and the doctor were awesome . I highly recommend this office.
My 76 year old mother came for an Endoscopy and Colonoscopy exam referred by her PHP. Unfortunately, she waited over 3 hours before being seen by Dr Wiener. She is diabetic and was asked to fast before her appointment. I hope other patients do not have to endure sush treatment and negligence. I also hope that it’s not common treatment for olderly people on a fixed income and/or on Medicare.
Dr. Wiener is an extremely smart and friendly doctor. He actually listened to me when I described my issues, he didn't talk down to me when discussing treatment options, and he behaved and spoke in a way that showed he cared and was trying to make me feel good. Judy, one of his staff members, was equally friendly and caring and it was easy to see that Dr. Wiener surrounds himself with wonderful, like-minded people. I highly recommend his practice for all your gastroenterological needs!
This Dr. Is So Unbelievably Amazing!, My Entire Family just loves him, and We can not say enough How He has changed our lives in a really great one and many, We just Love this DR!
His office double booked the schedule with appointments every 15 minutes. There were 2 people scheduled every 15 minutes and only 1 doctor! We were also told by his front desk staff that this is common practice for his office. Ridiculous! After 35 minutes of waiting we were told it would be at least an hour more. Full waiting room and everyone was voicing how unhappy they were about it. He may (or may not) be a good doctor, but I would not know as we decided to look elsewhere for help.
Business response:
Very sorry to hear that, have made changes including hiring a PA, expanding staff. In Chula Vista, and since we take care of all socioeconomic states, including the poor, uninsured, homeless, a lot of people arrive for their appointment at unscheduled times, do not show up and make our scheduling difficult. When a patient I am seeing is in a state of distress, I will take whatever time is needed, that frequently slows everything down. We can guarantee excellent quality care when you are seen.
I went to an appointment w Dr.Wiener and it was the best medical care i could ask for. He is very knowledgeable and found and cured my symptoms right away & the stAff being friendly is a plus.
I went to see Dr. Wiener for a follow up appointment and I was very disappointed with the way Dr. Wiener treated me. He asked me if I was feeling better and I said yes. I tried to explained other symptoms to Dr. Wiener and he said: that has nothing to do with your stomach problems. That's something else. The doctor barely made eye contact with me. After that, he said, well, good. That's it. He got up and left without asking if I had any other questions. He probably spent a minute with me. rude..
Business response:
I am strictly a specialist, other problems are under the guidance and expertise of a primary care doctor. It is essential that I respect his management of all other conditions and it would be innaproriate medical care if I interfere with his/her care. I respect their management which is in the patient's best interest. Sorry you feel different, ask your primary care doctor so you see his viewpoint
