Dr. Whitlow is not cut happy. He is conservative and tries everything possible before surgery. He is very personable and easy to talk to. I highly recommend Dr. Whitlow.
This doctor left me in tears everytime I had a visit with him. He never wanted to address my concerns and I always felt I was having to prove myself to him. He was not compassionate at all. He did not make me feel safe and I stopped going to him. He isn’t a nice person. I reported him to the hospital.
After 4 1/2 years of pain, hip replacement, several injections with other drs, I was referred back to Dr. whitlow. Surgery for sciatic nerve sandwiched between 2 discs. Was repaired & the next day, I could walk, stand longer than a minute & no more numbness, tingling & burning. He is the Best of the Best.

Fast service, thorough, willing to speak clearly with service
In the months prior to my back surgery by Dr. Whitlow on 06/25/21, I was sleeping on a loveseat and a recliner due to the extreme pain in my thighs. After the surgery I am once again sleeping in a bed with no issues whether on my back or my sides. Dr. Whitlow's bedside manner and the method used to explain what was going to take place before and after the surgery was very beneficial and appreciated. I would recommend he and his staff to anyone looking for a Neurosurgeon.
Dr. Whitlow and his staff were very helpful and attentive from my first visit, getting referrals for cat scans etc. and going over every step of the procedures and what to expect afterward. I have had 4 plates in my neck previously and already had a “lot going on” before getting a growth on my spinal chord. After going over all the data, he went through the neck to minimize the trauma, installing a fifth plate and then through the back to remove the growth. Dr. Whitlow is a wonderful doctor! He is very thorough with explaining what is on the MRI and in terms you can understand. My surgery was very successful and I attribute that to him. He will be missed!
