⚠️ Update: I realize that I never updated what became of this issue.We called for an ambulance to take him to Community Hospital.The doctors told us that they had never seen someone so ill & dehydrated after only being there for such a short amount of time.Originally he was in Community for an infection from his recent surgery & they released him to the healthcare center so that they could “make room for future Covid patients!” It’s just as much their fault I believe.We weren’t allowed to visit him at either facility because... read more
This place is absolutely disgusting, unclean, smells awful, stains on everything from the chairs to the carpets, deserves 0 stars. I'm absolutely mortified too find my grandmother in law has been moved here.
Looking for the sixth star. Why? Because the staff, particularly Maryellen on 3-11 and the cna staff made it common practice to go above and beyond. She left in better shape then we could ever expect and we are eternally grateful for the difference you made. She has been home for some time now and I am happy to say she continues to do very well. I am young and found myself at this facility after spending 12 days in the hospital following a flare up of a dysautonomia condition I have, and seizures. I had been to another facility 2 years ago after a knee replacement so of course made a comparison. My previous facility had a huge gym, gourmet coffee, and great food. Whiting Healthcare does not have great food at all and their gym is minimal. However, the gym serves its purpose and the staff here are amazing. My grandmother was here for a few years due to strokes and dementia. Towards her final days, who knows if it would have been her final days somewhere else, but she had a skull fracture from a "fall" and developed gangrene in her toes. Her eye was swollen shut from.an infection. She ended up passing away in a lot of pain. We had multiple family members visit her a week, so for this to happen and no one told us about the gangrene until it was way too late, there was obvious neglect.
