I go here with a coworker almost every day for my afternoon tea or drink - the staff have all taken time to get to know us by name and are all so kind and pleasant! Just wanted to give them a shoutout as they are what makes White Heron such a great place to go ...and also the ginger molasses cookies.

A friend gave me a small tin of Moroccan Mint Green Tea he bought at White Heron. Midday, after the Mar 7 snowstorm, I'm sitting here enjoying a large cup of it. All sorts of memories. Thanks for the kind words Mike! Yes, tea takes me many places as well. From brewing tea for my Brazilian Grandmother as a boy to travels in Japan and Taiwan. Afternoons sipping oolong while reading lines of Ira Cohen's "On Feet of Gold" time and time again during my Seattle years. I decided to take a leap of faith in 2005 with starting White Heron. So glad to know that others are finding as much to enjoy in a cup of tea as I do. Cheers! Jonathan

One of the first places I was introduced to in Portsmouth. I soon moved to town and this has literally become home. We feel like family, know every (amazing) vegan item on the menu, and continue to be surprised by all the awesomeness they keep coming up with! We’ve met so many wonderful people here, just happening into conversations. Seriously wouldn’t know what we’d do without our White Heron family!!

Whenever I forget to pack my lunch, This is my go-to for a quick delicious and nutritious lunch- the tofu rice bowl, green curry sauce, add some avocado- gluten free, and unbelievably tasty!
