My daughter has lived at Whistler for almost a year and has resigned her lease for next year. We have seen so many complaints with other management companies in Iowa City and have to say that Whistler (J. Michael Realty) has been very responsive. The gentleman in charge of maintenance (Mark) is super kind and on top of issues when they arise. Great location, close to campus, and safe!

Whistler is just your average Iowa City apartment. The location is top tier, the units are nice and each room is furnished which is quite convenient. However, the rent is quite expensive so it is definitely a "get what you pay for" type of model... but honestly, not so much when you consider the negative aspects of this place. Doing laundry here is probably one of the worst experiences ever; it is arguably worse than doing laundry in the dorms. My roommates and I have been tenants at Whistler for the past two years, and unfortunately, our experience has been consistently disappointing. While there are several issues worth noting, such as the extremely small laundry machines and the steep $3.00 fee per load for both washers and dryers, our primary concern lies with the repeated and prolonged failure of the building's elevator. Hands down the best location for students! It's perfect for walking to campus, restaurants, the bread garden market, and the smaller Target. The balconies are a huge bonus!
