Unfortunately, our experience renting a canoe here about a month ago was very disappointing and unsafe. My family (my parents, aged 67 and 68, myself, and my 18-month-old baby) rented a canoe even though none of us are swimmers. I clearly told the staff that we don’t know swimming, but they still allowed us to go without giving any safety instructions or warning. I’m stoked this place is open in September! The one on lake Harriet is closed. We rented single kayaks for 2 hours and paddled all over lake of the isles. We turned into many different little canals and saw rare birds sunning themselves. Turtles and bullfrogs leaping on Lilly pads with blooming white flowers. It was gorgeous! The life jackets are getting very worn looking but everything else was great. The push out from staff was appreciated!
Lines can be long but plenty of inventory. Bring money cuz it’s not worth it to rent for just an hour.
Best place to rent a kayak, paddle board or bike! Fair prices and the staff is friendly and helpful!
