I've been going to Mayo for 15 years since my wife is a well respected nurse in the hospital for that time. I've been here for eye checkups, family doctor visits, pediatricians, herniated disc, asthma, and acid reflux. I tore my Achilles and setup an ortho appointment which was with Dr Whalen. The staff was friendly. The wait was very quick. I had no issues...until Dr Whalen came in. I was laying on a table while he picked up my leg and started twisting it and squeezing it aggressively. Doctor Whalen came to my rescue 2 years ago and saved me from amputation of both big toes. I went to three other specialists in North Florida and no one was confident in their game plan for getting my function back except for Dr Whalen. He’s brilliant and I will always be thankful for his care and expertise.
