I am initiating a refi on my condo and one requirement of the lender is a form that the group managing my condominium complex must complete. In my case, this is Western States Property Services, Inc. The form is one page with 4 yes/no questions. Western States wants to charge me $100 to complete the form. When I called them to ask why the cost was so high, they said that if the lender would accept THEIR form (which they couldn't) the cost would ONLY be $50. What a joke! One stars for zero service. The past few years have seen our "HOA maintained" entrance area reduced to to crap, allowing weeds to grow to over 30". Numerous yards in our subdivision are poorly maintained and do not seem to be being addressed. Numerous houses have been painted non-approved colors, again, without having been addressed. Not returning phone calls with our concerns. Western States Property Management is a scam. They are in cahoots with an attorney to charge outrageous attorney fees (more than 3x the amount owed) for 2 months in arrears. Then when sent checks they return and refuse to cash so they can continue the scam. Rather than accepting the amount owed, interest, and late fees then discussing the attorney fees they refuse to talk. The receptionist refused to even tell me what months were owed and for what amounts.
