i would give this place 0 stars if i could. everytime i come to this western dental i have to wait 2 hours just to be seen and then when they call my name they make me wait in the dentist chair for another HOUR AND A HALF. they also always mess up my appointment times (they will tell me to come at 9:30 and when i show up they say my appointment is at 11:30)?? i hate going here and i truly don't recommend it.

This place is a joke. They are very rude. They make an appointment, but then you wait in the lobby for up to an hour before they stick you in a back room where you wait for another hour. I left there in more tooth pain then I went in with. Isn't there some kind of state board that regulates these things.

I had first appt on Monday at Western Dental in Downey. Staff was very courteous and friendly. Place was very clean, not fancy but clean. . Waited a little bit then was called, explained my problem, was taken to get xrays. Dr examined me and reviewed options. J... explained financial options. What is amazing was their patience and kind manner in explaining and answering my many questions. Their payment program is very manageable! I appreciated that they treated respectfully and patiently. I was suspicious that a back molar tooth did not need to be pulled, the radiologist agreed with me, but the dentist insisted on pulling it anyway- I went in for a check up and the dentist was 30 minutes late so i had to have the checkup with a different dentist, i bumped into him as i left and it was awkward. After hearing horrid stories about western dental and reading reviews I thought this was going to be a mistake. But I was completely wrong! Although it did take 25 min to take me back to take xrays, from there on out it was a breeze. I spent over 5000 dollars with 2 root canals fillings, extractions and my cleaning and the doctors were amazing! Doctor Patel explained all my options and throughly explained the cause of everything. We had an appt and still took them 1hr to call us in. My two year old was tired by then even us adults were bored and annoyed at how long we had to wait. The girls in the front went to lunch were talking about their nails and us people were waiting outside to be called. If they go to lunch at 1pm why give us an appt at that time. Terrible customer service. Employees are very rude and condescending, nobody knows how to solve a problem and their attitude is very unprofessional. If you get your work done here, please get ready to experience the worst and most inefficient front desk you will deal with in your life.

Dr. Maggie Abadan is by far the best dentist I have ever had which is saying something as I have lived all over the country and have been a patient of many different dentists. She is friendly, funny and fantastic at her job. She really makes going to the dentist something that you don't try to avoid. I have had several procedures done by her and her staff and they were all completed in a top notch manner. I went to this office because of their in-house financing and its proximity to my home. I have heard bad thisngs about Western Dental but, with the amount of work I needed I thought it would be worth it. Contrary to the rumors I received EXCELLENT service. Yes, the staff seemed young BUT everyone of them put forth the best effort. I have been there 4 times in the past 2 weeks and have never sat in the lobby more than 10 minutes.
