Hire someone else. Westbury Contracting Club was contracted to build a covered front porch — overframed shingled roof, decking, rails, stairs, and footings. What we got was a failed project, a county stop work order, and an 8-month, $12,000 cleanup. The problems, specifically: No structural engineering plans and no soil compression testing — both required in Charleston County for this scope of work. Taking zero accountability for a failed job is not the way to do business. Ignoring multiple calls to make things right also isn’t the way to do business, but hey… don’t take my word for it, there is an ongoing investigation against them.
