Since being taken over by FL Hospital DeLand this place has seriously gone downhill
First I spoke with someone and they told me I could self pay. Then I spoke with Nancy and she told me that if i didn’t have insurance then they couldn’t help me. This just goes to show you that West Volusia Medical Associates do not care about the well being of others. They only care about lining there pockets. What’s the difference if I pay you or the insurance company pays you. Guess you can overcharge the insurance company on a regular basis.
Had my first visit with Dr. Montaldo yesterday morning. It was the best doctor's visit I have had in years... years! I have a chronic issue that has been disregarded by others in the last 18 months, and have been suffering. Dr. Montaldo was the first doctor to even examine me. He is very kind, understanding and professional. The office staff, checking in and out, the nurse assisting me, and the ease of getting the appointment quickly for the referral I was given, was outstanding. I feel blessed.
I think that we've all had bad experiences at doctors' offices, anywhere. Things happen that become inconvenient and nerve-racking, esp. when you are in need of help, are in pain, etc. I don't expect every person in that office to have the same personality that I would like to see, but I think they all do a great job. Remember that a lot of elderly patients with all kinds of ailments are sometimes difficult to deal with. What's most important to me is knowing that my physician knows me, and cares about me.
