My son Donnie Barker has attended the summer camp for the past 3 yrs. My other son Chuckie Barker for the past 2 yrs. I cannot tell you how much these officers have played a positive roll in their lives. One of my older sons Owen Barker went only 1yr. he is now a Dunbar police officer. Wonderful group of men & women. Thank you so much for all you do.
Our Sheriffs should support SB347 and our State and US Constitutions. (1) Carrying with a coat is not substantially different from open carrying; (2) LEOs approach all citizens knowing they might be carrying already; (3) no training courses are required now for open carry; (4) many will still get permits for travel across state lines; (5) our rights should not be taxed. I would support funding your budgets as needed from another source.
