I dropped in and they gave me a free trial for the day because it was my first time there. The staff is super friendly and accommodating, especially Tigist, who guided me when coming in. Thanks so much for being so welcoming.

When I swim, my mind is ahead of my body. It is already at the finish line, while my body struggles to keep up. This is not on purpose, it happens on its own accord. To keep my mind in the present, I count. I count the strokes it takes me to get across the pool. I count the lengths that I swim from one to ten. I focus on my technique. Still, I think of the moment when it's over. I suppose my tired body is looking forward to a rest. I thought I could be zen. It's not that easy.

I joined this YMCA about two months ago, and unfortunately my first experience was so disappointing that I never came back. When I signed up, the staff member asked if I wanted a tour of the facility. I said yes. He then asked whether I wanted the tour before or after signing the membership agreement, and I chose after signing. However, once the paperwork was finished, he simply told me to go and look around by myself.
