I had the unfortunate experience of undergoing a sleep test recently, and I can honestly say it was anything but pleasant. They stick a bunch of wires all over you, which feels more like a science experiment than anything conducive to sleep. The bed they provide is hardly any better – it’s lined with plastic, making it feel like a toddler’s crib rather than a comfortable sleeping arrangement for an adult. Whoa. God forbid you request a medical records transfer - the receptionist will insist that this is not his job, will refuse to fax records, will refuse to provide the phone number to the medical records department, and will act like he is performing some kind of grand favor to you just by speaking with you over the phone. He wouldn't even tell me his name. I have to wonder if a disgruntled, alcoholic bum wandered in off the streets and started picking up phone calls. That's how unprofessional this conversation went.
