Skip and Joe were incredible to work with. I brought in a late 60s US Navy Flight jacket that needed some work done. The elastic bands that had previously been replaced by a different leather worker/restorer were.. well far too tight. Skip and the tailor took time to look how the jacket sat on me and how it should sit. They took note of my issues with it and any corrections I wanted to make. This is hands down the best leather shop you’ll find. Skip and Joe are incredible to work with, and have my complete trust for anything leather related. I have brought in several items here for cleaning or repairs and I am always blown away with the outcome. Small independent shop but the only one of its kind in town. Great service - great attention to detail - quality work .This guy knows his leather — knows his stuff. I brought in a leather jacket that the wife bought me that just did not quite fit right. West Coast leather had it “re-tailored” to my specifications. Couldn’t be happier with the results!

Due to West Coast Leather’s reputation of being THE place in the Bay Area for leather alterations and repairs, we contacted them to repair a suede jacket that had issues with the lining not fitting and hanging properly. We are very pleased with the results and working with Skip and Joe. They were both very helpful in scheduling the repair (we are outside of San Francisco) and the turnaround was fast and the repair was perfect. Got an alteration done here on a leather jacket (removed a troublesome inner chest pocket and refinished the satin lining as a result) with quick turnaround time in less than a week. They have a tailor who I would trust with future jacket alterations. And other than that, cool little store in the marina worth checking out! Sounds like they have a history with some pretty interesting clients.
