We arrived at 5:00 a.m. for a scheduled 7:30 a.m. C-section. Despite staff being informed that my wife has Raynaud’s disease, it took over three hours and six different attempts by multiple staff members to place an IV, they also tried to get an infant sized IV into my wife for a C-Section which I hear is an absolute no no. The nurses had long, long nails (stripper nails) and were doing cervical checks - OUCH and honestly gross how many times has a glove broke?? I brought the head nurse in after each check being AGONIZING PAIN and told her about the nails and she brushed it off. Then later on I was told “there’s no way you are still in pain” during back to back contractions and nobody cared to check if the epidural fell out (IT DID). I gave birth via C-Section last week and I am SO glad I chose West Boca Hospital. The staff is AMAZING! Huge Shoutout to Micaela who took amazing care of me after the surgery. She was so kind and so helpful. I loved how patient she was answering all my questions. Also Zoe took care of me during the night and she was so incredibly kind and so positive and caring. Huge shoutout to the staff at West Boca as we welcomed our principessa last week! As first time parents, it is very appreciated to have such caring, and genuine staff to navigate this new chapter. I don’t even know where to begin when describing how grateful my husband and I are for Nurse Theresa Zupita at Boca Center for Women’s Care (West Boca Hospital). During my active labor, our baby boy’s heartbeat suddenly dropped and wasn’t recovering, despite several nurses working so hard to help. It was one of those terrifying moments that felt like forever — and that’s when Theresa stepped in.
