The actual cost of living in this building is very different from the base rent they quote you. If you are budgeting to move here, be prepared for a constant stream of "hidden" and fluctuating costs. Aside from your own electric bill, they send a separate building utility bill every other month. This can add up to $80 extra on top of what you already owe. Edit: Please check if the property you are looking to rent from is owned by Greystar. They have sold West 8th now to another company who seem nice as Greystar even sent me to collections when I did nothing wrong (this is a common tactic to get even extra money from renters with Greystar based on online forums), and the new company helped resolve that. AVOID this apartment complex. They recently had a change in management and almost immediately incorporated a 3rd party parking vendor. Now some tenants “rent” multiple spots. However… these tenants on the app can rent out these spots per hour. Charging upwards of $10 per hour. It gets better, some tenants did not get their parking spots in time and have to park on the street or pay hundreds extra JUST TO PARK! It was a great apartment, but now I would avoid this place!
Awesome apartment complex and location - The maintenance team is great however, management in general is absolutely horrible. From it taking a month to execute my lease, to random fees that are added to my rent (then have to be deliberated / removed) on a monthly basis. I’ve never worked with any business that was this blatantly incompetent, and shows no sign of improvement.
