To All Piano Owners or "Would be" Owners, I used to have my piano tuned by a "piano tuner" who was a very nice guy, moderately competent, and over-booked. After doing a little research on the internet last year, I found Wes Flinn's website, reviewed it, and said to myself, "Gee, I wish I could get someone with this much experience to tune my piano and answer my questions". I figured that anyone with Wes's credentials wouldn't want to waste his time with me and my amateurish piano. I couldn't have been more wrong. Wes has tre... read more

Dear Wes, I wanted to tell you how pleased I am with the work you gave the Piano at St Daniel the Prophet Catholic Church in Scottsdale, AZ. When I began my ministry there, the piano was barely playable, and the keys were so hard to push down it was impossible to play with any kind of style other than banging to get the sound out. After playing all the Sunday morning Masses my fingers would literally be hurting because of the force needed to get through the masses. After you gave it “Full Maintenance Service” — moved the pia... read more

When I discovered the Wes Flinn web-site, I did something good for myself, and my piano. I sought routine maintenance after a cross-country move. My piano just needed a little attention, I thought. He explained what my piano needed was a “Full Maintenance Service” After this service, the rest of this story calls for a pause, a shout in celebration. When I sat down to play the first song, unexpectedly, tears flowed. All these years I had internalized that I had lost my touch. My piano and I reconnected in one sitting and a fa... read more

I have a piano that I have owned most of my life. My parents bought it for me when I was small, and I studied a while on it. I always enjoyed the musical experience of playing, but I was very busy and did not spend too much time at it. I have kept it now about 30 years. It is a nice Console, with a nice finish and is a pretty furniture style. It had not been tuned for perhaps 10 years before I tuned it in year 2000. Then I still did not play it much, but wanted to keep it maintained. Wes Flinn was recommended as a very high ... read more

I own a 1925 Gulbransen Upright piano. I decided I wanted to refurbish it to become a true working antique. I found this amazing website, and asked Wes to make it happen. We named the piano Ms G (for Gulbransen, the manufacturer). Parts were ordered, the cleanup started. Repairs were made when possible, but much had to be replaced like bass strings, hammers, dampers, miscellaneous felts. Her action was regulated and lubricated, the keyboard calibrated, and all her more than 10,000 moving parts made to to function properly li... read more

I THOUGHT I HAD LOST MY ABILITY TO PLAY ? BUT IT WAS THE PIANO, INSTEAD! My piano needed work so badly that I began to think my playing ability had dwindled. In the past I used a piano tuner with no accreditation -- the piano would stay tuned briefly, then soon sound as bad as before. I was paying with no results, so I stopped tuning the piano and stopped playing entirely. I couldn?t stand to listen to the piano. Yet, I wanted to teach my daughters to play. I did some research and found Wes Flinn through the Piano Technician... read more
