I had a spinal fusion three years ago and the surgery was not successful. I have returned two times since with new MRI results and always see a NP who know nothing about my condition. This spring I returned to his office with a new MRI and he looked at my disc right before the NP walked into the room with the news that they could do nothing for me and I needed to continue with pain management. I actually saw Dr Werthammer during my initial consult with him several years ago. However, multiple subsequent visits later I have only been seen only by a nurse practitioner (NP) who was very nice, but not a neurosurgeon. The NP did not have the knowledge base or expertise of a neurosurgeon or neurologist. I am a specialized M.D. which she was aware. I seen Dr. WH in February and was told I had 2 herniated disc and not a candidate for surgery so I go to pain clinic and get epidural in April and it was great for about 3 months and now I’ve had two others since and they don’t work I can’t sit or be in automobile for any length of time and it’s effecting my work and quality of life so and can’t get any more epidural until January so I return to worthless hammers office and seen practitioner and explained everything and worthlessness hammer said he wouldn’t do surgery so now... read more
Dr. Werthammer is a very good surgeon. He did surgery on my back more than 5 years ago, and to this day I have not had any more pain since the day I came out of surgery. He has very good beside manners. I would recommend him to anyone. He was a God sent for me. Back trouble don't hesitate to get Dr. Werthammer to be your surgeon (Matthew Werthammer). Believe me you will not be disappointed.
Dr werthammer has did 4 lower lumbar surgeries on me, and did an exceptional job every surgery!! The staff was remarkable in the care i received. I will definately recommend Dr Werthammer to anyone.
My spine is in bad shape. The MRIs that I have are over a year old because I was required to have therapy and pain management before I could come back to the surgeon. I have been waiting for 3 months to get an MRI. I received a letter from the insurance company 2 1/2 months ago saying it had been approved. This is a problem with Werthammer’s staff being negligent and un-suoervised. They did schedule me 1 MRI and I told them that I couldn’t fit in the machine.
