Dan Cleary is the owner of The Werkshop. While in the Air Force, Dan found he had a knack for fixing his neighbors air cooled vehicles and turned his hobby into his full-time career. Since 1985, The Werkshop has only moved once… right next door! Dan and his crew do a great job keeping my Boxster S on the road. I wouldn't think of taking it anywhere else. Besides being great mechanics, they are really nice people.
I became a customer and friend of Dan's in 1987. And I still have the first receipt for the DME relay that caused our 944 to need a tow to three different shops. Dan had it running before the tow truck driver unhooked it at his shop. Now, six Porsches later, the Werkshop is still the only place that touches our P cars.
I drove 100 miles to see Dan and get his opinion on what was causing shifting problems in my 84 911 Cab. Dan and his technicians know these cars so well that in one very brief test drive he diagnosed the problem and fixed it on the spot in under an hour. What I thought was a \$3k+ transmission/synchro problem turned out to be a relatively simple and inexpensive shifter coupler bushing repair. I drove all the way back to Stuart, FL, with a big smile on my face because my 911 was shifting perfectly for the first time in years.... read more
