My husband and I were at the ER yesterday from about 7pm until FOUR AM!!!! The ER was extremely slow and no one really knew why. I watched an old man sit for hours in a wheelchair and not be addressed and he was there before us. Some poor lady writhed in pain and was not prioritized. Once we were finally taken back (after midnight), we were placed in a spot in the hallway. The care team beyond the ER was decent, but never have I ever sat in an ER this long.
I have no words for what I have been through with this hospital. As a seasoned medical professional, I can guarantee you, I will never work there or recommend their services on any level.
This is for the Medical Center only and not the attached Wellstar Paulding Hospital, which I would stay away from due to Wellstar's substandard quality of healthcare throughout all of their hospitals. The staff we encountered in the Medical Center were friendly, helpful, caring and knowledgeable. The location was clean and easy to navigate. On site parking was free, abundant and close. I recommend.
Why was there a security guard in front of the entrance of the hospital 7:00 in the morning on Tuesday, 8/18/2026 stopping cars asking why they are there? When he asked me I said "I took the day off just to hang out at the hospital. " Why else do you think I'm here? I have an appointment." Either I'm an employee or a patient. DUH!!!
