it was a bad experience, they diagnosed my friend with a hairline fracture and it was an oblique fracture instead. May need new doctors at this emergency room God forbid it was life threatening.
Any other experience with Gettysburg Hospital has been fabulous & everyone was so caring & kind each time. Unfortunately that changed on 12/2/2024. I had been in pain for a week & could not find relief no matter what medication i took, baths/hot showers, the previous hospital had done or told me to do, nothing was giving me relief. The staff in the Gettysburg ER department was AMAZING. We were visiting my parents when my three month old was having trouble nursing, leading to what I thought was dehydration. The nurses Nora and Amber, and Dr. Debarge, were quick to treat my daughter’s dehydration and, when we realized there was something underlying going on, were quick to transfer us to a hospital with some more intense interventions. “Didn’t even have to take her curlers out” Have made 5 or more trips recently for my mom. They absolutely saved her life, detecting congestive heart failure when several other doctors or facilities had not come to that conclusion. The treatment has made her her old self. The latest trip was due to a fall in the night right before her 90th birthday party. She had her hair in curlers and was worried they would have to take them out for the CAT scan.
