It was extremely important for me to work with a Black lawyer through my divorce given that my ex husband is white, our mediator was white, and his lawyer was white. I felt very outnumbered. Having a team who I didn't have to explain all of the racial nuances to made me feel safe and advocated for in the ways that were important to me. They did an amazing job with both the mediator and the opposing council, and helped me through some things that my last lawyer missed. Very responsive.
Going through a divorce is rough, it's emotionally and physically draining. The nervousness and anxious anticipation of each visit got me every time. This is a best in town family law firm. I had a difficult divorce for my incarcerated child and they were more than willing to help us. They were wonderful during the whole process even with the extra steps that are needed. They kept us informed throughout the whole process. I also had them help with a name change and they did everything and I didn't have to worry about anything. I highly recommend them !
This firm literally “stole” $18000 from me!! I spent this amount on the firm in about 8 months of service and at the end they informed me that they had to step out of my case because they were changing some internal policies and now I don’t have an attorney for my case. A moment that marked for me was when in one of the hearing the judge said “Counsil, you just got your client another 6 months of TRO”.
