Hello, everyone; not all branch managers are created equal. I recently sold my car and was paid with a cashier's check. Because of the weekend, my branch manager said because of the weekend there would be an 8-day hold. I have been a customer for over 5 years, and my combined account balance exceeded the check amount. I'm an attorney. I had an IOLTA account, which is mandatory but which I never use. So I was notified today that Wells closed my account and sent it to the state as unclaimed property. This was because, the local branch person notified me, "they couldn't determine if I was alive or not". Despite the activity on the four or five other accounts I have at the same branch and my physical presence in the branch on numerous occasions. The amount certainly isn't the issue (It's a $1.06).
