My son had to stay outside the funeral home in FL for several hours while his father’s body was alone inside to wait for the shomer to arrive in the evening. This was not a Jewish funeral home, though they had a relation- ship with local chevrah kaddishah. They made sure the body arrived in time for the funeral in Chicago. 30 yrs ago my mother purchased a forethought policy through Weinstein/Piser on Skokie Blvd. Now, at age 93, she is in hospice and living in Tucson. We simply needed ONE form sent to me from Piser, to transfer coordination of cremation and burial from Skokie to Tucson. Ben was not only uncooperative but down right mean and wouldn’t even call back the office manager at the Dignity funeral home in Tucson, to transfer the arrangements.
