They say a miracle happens when you walk into WeCare. I can only speak from my own experience. After more than 15 years of drug & alcohol abuse I now have more than a year & a half clean & sober. I have never picked up a drink or drug since the day I walked through the doors of WeCare.
I 1st stepped foot in this magical house on 9/25/13 & surrendered to the fact that I am a alcoholic & a addict!!!! I was very near death spiritually & physically & wanted a new life of peace! One day at a time I learned to love myself, I learned how to be honest again, I learned that I have the disease of alcoholism & there is a solution for it! I love we care I came in 1983 1984. I was a resident with Mary Jane Virginia and dorothy. 3 angels that gave unconditional everyday. Mary Jane would get up at 2:00 a.m to take me too desert Inn to work! She was in her 70s. Forever grateful!! I was very young not ready to stop using but the seed was planted through the love and sharing off beautiful women that came and shared their storys..eventually 1984 I was given the gift of sobriety and clean time. This house saved my life once I finally surrendered. I've met the most loving, caring beautiful woman I can call friends. I've finally found a meeting place where I can be completely vulnerable. That in of itself is a blessing..
I had gone to a few meetings there, long before admitting to myself that I was an addict and always felt like the house was so special. Years later, I did realize that I needed help and a friend helped me get into the house for 30 days.
