I had the BEST fried clams in May 2015 when I went to Vermont to put flowers on the graves at Hope cemetery in Barre, Vermont and can hardly wait for Tuesday, 9/29/2015 to return to put the mums on for the fall. We will be stopping to eat on the way back at Wayside and I don't even have to open the menu, I know I want the fried clams. And, we are from Massachusetts.
This place is legendary!
My son and I just moved to the area the beginning of this month. We have dined here multiple times already. The food is excellent, wait staff very friendly, and a great location. The prices can't be beat. Out new favorite place!!
I love, love, love the Wayside! Great food, friendly and personal service and affordable prices. I've been eating here my entire life! I even worked here for a summer! I was treated like family! Simply wonderful.

The Wayside to me is the heart of Vermont! Good food. Excellent customer service with friendly staff. A must stop Everytime you enter the state if you're looking for a "real" Vermont experience
