Waxman Candles originated from a $5 paraffin wax hobby kit ordered by owner Bob Werts in 1969. Until the early 2000's soy wax was not readily available on the market, therefore Bob grew his business solely on his knowledge of and experience with paraffin (petroleum) based wax. Our paraffin is a U.S.A. made, highly refined, food grade wax. This means a high percentage of oil is removed during the refining process which results in a cleaner burning candle. My sister and sister-in-law love it here (among other things they have in common). The Jayhawk egg candle was a hit with my dad. I'm just happy that this candle store did not trigger my allergy to perfumes. :)
Every time I go back home to see my family and friends, Waxman is on the list of must do’s! Sadly, just plopped my last of the two dozen votives I bought two trips ago in a holder to burn. Might need to try to remember the scents I love (I usually remember most by color when there picking them...) and place an order online!
What's better than going to WAXMAN? Going home and enjoying everything from WAXMAN!!! Even though I don't live in Lawrence anymore, what a treat to stop in a pick up a few treasures! Plus, I found the book of matches in my bag after getting back home and it brought me right back to the loving atmosphere of the store!! ❤️😭❤️. I love Lawrence and love WAXMAN candles!!
