I had a terrible experience here. I am physically very uncomfortable and personally upset. I was very clear at the beginning of my appointment, using my words three times, and my hands twice, to explain exactly what I wanted, and exactly what I didn't want. I was waxed exactly as I DIDN'T want. "I'll just do this..." and the staff person just did exactly what I said I didn't want, while I was vulnerable, and it was too late to stop her. Waxed by Kat is hands down one of the best and safest studios I’ve ever been to. It’s an Indigenous-owned, woman-run business that is genuinely inclusive and welcoming to 2-Spirited and LGBTQ+ clients. Kat creates a truly trauma-informed environment because of her high level of education and her background in psychotherapy, and you can feel that in the way she explains everything, checks in, and makes sure you are comfortable before anything happens.
