History:The Waverly Parks and Recreation Department was formed as a professional Department in 1976. Prior to that time, recreation services were provided on a volunteer basis with supervision from a policy-making Recreation Commission.The Golf Course was started in the late 1920s with a private four-hole course. A full nine-hole course was completed in 1939. This is my first year back after a long hiatus. I think the country club did very well this summer. Having to deal with Covid it had to be a miserable job. But when I was up there Wes and the girls that work there all had smiles on and treated me like I’ve been a member for a long time. Maybe they didn’t know as I’m thinking they were newer employees. I ate there at least Once every 7 to 10 days and the food was good. I don’t know who the cook is so I cannot comment any more than that. The one negative was The many times I w... read more
