Wonderful food, great value The food is Southern, made with the freshest ingredients from local vendors. Dishes are very creative, and a fantastic value for a gourmet restaurant this wonderful. It's fantastic food, but not too stuffy; the atmosphere is casual, and it blends in with the neighborhood. We've had both dinners and brunch here and been impressed every time.
Cool take on Southern staples Although dishes on Watts Grocery's menu tend to sound better than they taste when they arrive on your plate, this new entry into the Durham dining scene gets points for its inventive cuisine. Taking Southern staples and adding a unique twist to it--think Frog legs and waffles, for example--the restaurant tries to break new ground. Make sure to come in late on Thursdays for the perfect sliders.
nice place We went there for a workplace christmas party and if it wasn't so small, I think I would have had a better time. The place was packed and you couldn't really move around. They made some great drinks though!
Hip local food, good atmosphere I've eaten at Watt's twice now for brunch, and I've been impressed both times. Despite the fact that Sundays are very busy, the waitstaff is polite and service is fairly speedy. The grits bowl is my favorite item on the brunch menu, but the omelet is very good as well. I appreciate that the sources for all the local ingredients are printed right on the menu - the dedication to supporting local farmers is extremely important to me.
